Road To QVC: Day 1

The journey to QVC has definitely been an exciting one…. I grew up devoted to watching home shopping channels… fascinated by the latest deals on Diamonique Jewelry and Capodiamonte figurines. It was so fun to watch the mirrored turn-style with the latest must have“Hot Pick” item! Grandma Tic Tac is a QVC and mail-order Queen so I guess it just runs in my blood. When I was younger, I spent all my weekends babysitting. Once the kids were put to bed and sound asleep, I would sit up nights watching QVC fantasizing about which new Bauble on the television would become mine!! It was my primary source of entertainment as a kid. QVC sparked my desire to want to learn more about fashion and being glamourous.

So you would have to understand my shock when “The Q” called me and said that they were interested in carrying my collection on their channel! Honestly, I thought it was a big joke. It took months for the project to come to fruition. I was in my apartment in China when I first got the news. I will never forget that day…… it was so exciting! What a great moment…….

Working with QVC has been a dream from day one! Everyone from the Buying Staff, Marketing Department, to even the people at the front reception have been such a breath of fresh air!! I can see why the QVC World is such a HUGE EMPIRE!! Just even visiting the QVC Studios in Pennsylvania is a sight for sore eyes. It is seriously the size of 15 football fields! I couldn’t believe how high-tech everything was… all the cameras were computer operated!! It was really cool! I learned that this studio is the most technologically advanced studio in all of North America!

I was so impressed to learn that in January 2010, QVC was recognized as a “Top Ten” retailer for customer service!! I feel honored and BLESSED to have been selected by QVC to be working with them as one of their Up and Coming Fashion Week Designers for Spring 2011, and I cannot wait until Friday, February 11, 2011 when I go on air with my products on QVC!!! It is going to be one of the highlights of my life. I really hope that you can share in the moment with me!!! Please keep posted to the blog over the next few days as I post about my Road to QVC… it should be fun and definitely exciting!!!
