Mi Familia Weekend!

This past weekend was killer! I was soo fortunate to have a slumber party at my Mom’s house in Orange County, and then stop on the way back and catch up with my Grandma Tic Tac! What a treat. I hadn’t seen my Fam in quite a while. It’s funny, when I was a kid it just was “not cool” to hang out with your parents. Especially since my Mom was my 5th and 6th Grade Teacher! Don’t get me wrong, I love my family to death but it just wasn’t the hip thing to do. There have even been times where we fought to wits end. But as I have grown older, I can’t stop counting the minutes until I can talk or hang out with my fam. When I am out of town, I always Skype them quite a bit. When we are together, we all don’t really have to be doing anything to be having a good time, we can just sit around the dinner table and talk for hours. It is awesome that we are finally at that stage in our lives. My family rocks; each and every single one in their own special way. I gain so much insight and knowledge from the “when I was your age” stories, and the “when you are my age you will understand,”… I really have grown to appreciate every breath that I spend with the Fam… time is so precious.

This is Homer the Fabulous Family Dog! He is 122 years old

This Weekend was no different when we did just about a lot of about nothing….

My Mom is the Best Chef on the Planet hands down. She used to have her own Catering Business when I was a Kid and nothing beats her home cooked meals. She made Shrimp and Grilled Chicken Salad, and I still can tasted it.

Meghan with John and Gannon

Gannon, my Nephew is always awesome and energetic. Everyday he is growing so fast and has started his own Japanese inspired Comic Book Series that I am going to start posting on my blog once I return from my China trip. Most people don’t know this but I am a Twin, my FABULOUS Sister Sarah is Gannon’s Mom. This weekend Sarah and I got to spend so much quality time catching up on each other’s chaos face to face…. Such priceless time. We did the little things like run to the thrift store, and feed Peanut, Her Resident Neighborhood Squirrel. The only peeps missing were my Sister Jenny and her neato little guy, John. But they were having a quiet weekend at home, something that they rarely get Jenny is always soooo busy!

Good times on Saturday a.m. with Peanut the Squirrel

It really is all about the little things with family. It’s unconditional.

Last but not Least, I visited Grandma Tic Tac. She is so fun and a firecracker! I cherish every minute that I get to spend with my Grandma since I really don’t get to spend very much time at all. We really get each other a lot. My grandma Tic Tac is super cool. She is the Original Joan Harris on Mad Men. She has the fire engine red hair, bod, attitude and all! Martini time starts at five o’clock p.m. We share a lot of the same quirks, it’s funny.

What a delightful weekend I had before having to go back to China Fashion Bootcamp! I encourage you to call your Mother, Dad, Grandma,… whomever inspires you and let them know how you feel about them! Time is so precious and no one understands you better than your own blood!

Peace, Love and Fashion! Meghan Fab
