This was my second time in Jamaica; Six Months ago, Sacha and I traveled to Montego Bay for a trunk show at the Kerry ManWomanHome Store at the Half Moon Bay Resort….. which was amazing! We also participated in a fantastic runway show with Kerry and the Half Moon Bay Resort, called Ocean Style Magazine Showcase. That was sooo much fun. Check out the Video…
So it was a no-brainer when Kerry asked us to come back down for the premiere of the Sex and the City Movie, and host another trunk show in her other store in Kingston, Jamaica! What a fantastic experience Jamaica has been! Kerry is so amazing and has the best taste, so naturally when she made all the arrangements for our stay at the Spanish Court Hotel in New Kingston, I did not second guess her awesome choice!! What a FABULOUS boutique hotel!!! They even have yoga mats in all the rooms so you can get in a little morning workout. The food was top notch, the staff was at our beck and call, and the décor- sexy, fresh and welcoming. I highly recommend that if you are in Kingston, check out the Spanish Court Hotel…. Also don’t forget to stop by the second floor pool deck. They have a fabulous infinity pool and there is a fun bar scene after five o’clock. When we weren’t kickin’ back at the Hotel, it was all business for Sacha and me in Kingston. (Except for one evening’s wild shenanigans which involved a Federal Agent and us; seriously, I would rather not open my yap until a huge movie deal rolls my way…. Sorry it’s juicy!)

Day 1 was a Fabulous Trunk Show at the Kingston Kerry ManWomenHome Boutique location. I love meeting my customers, especially my Jamaican customers! They really are so stylish, diverse, and are genuinely friendly. I think that I take back more from my trunk shows in Jamaica than my customer does! It is great to get direct feedback from my clients, and work one on one with the product and the customer. I definitely have learned so much from going to other countries, seeing other cultures, climates, and meeting the women that wear my clothing. The knowledge that I have gained has been life changing. In Jamaica, the women are different from my normal girl, and I love that. This has not only opened my eyes professionally, but I have gained so much personal strength. It’s awesome! Here are some of the wonderful women that have changed my life through wearable art in Jamaica!!!

The Sex and the City Premiere on Day 2 was exactly what I would expect……………….. FABULOUS…. I loved the Martini Bar with the four special cocktails that you could order…. The New York New York was my favorite. And, even cooler was the fact that the martini glass base fit in the cup holder between the theater seats flawlessly. Brilliant.. Who was giving this movie a bad rating??? I thought it was great! And the fashion Rocked! The Kingston Paparazzi was out in full force this night… I think my eye balls are still red from all the flashbulbs! What a BLAST I had with all the Kingston Superstar Ladies at the Sex and the City Premiere. Thank you so much for thinking of me, and inviting me to speak to the prestigious group of Ladies… I was honored! You empower me, and I love you all and thank you to the customers for wearing Meghan on the RED CARPET!!!!

Negril….. What can I say for a town that I have such high expectations for in a spur of the moment last minute planned get-away??? You met them all and then some! I had a blast…. From the crazy named drinks, to the Ya Mon vibe, this place definitely did not disappoint. I do have to say, the five hour taxi ride from Kingston was quite bumpy, but the stop at the local Jerk Chicken Stand and Red Stripes made up for up for all the lack of road maintainance. When Sacha and I rolled up to Sandals Resort and Spa, we really did not know what we were walking into at an “all inclusive couple’s resort.” Especially since Sacha and I are far from being a “couple,” but I guess it ‘s cool since we are a “couple of nut jobs” so it’s close enough! Total decadence describes Sandals Resort…. From the minute you arrive you are greeted with smiles and Champagne. Nichelle Oxford, the Director of Guest Services rushed with-in minutes of our arrival to personally meet us, tour our Millionaire Villa with private dipping pool, and introduce us to one of our two Personal Butlers for the week. Whatttt? Personal Butlers on speed dial on personal cellulars… what a luxurious concept! Like I said, Sandals is the place in Jamaica if you want service and value that is luxurious.

Both Sacha and I had never done the whole all inclusive style vacationing before, and we were hesitant. The food was superb, alcohol top shelf, and amenities all that you would want at a five star hotel. You could waters ski, dance under the stars, kayak, sail a catamaran, snorkel, listen to live music, play volleyball, and more….. and it was all included! We never needed anything that wasn’t provided…. Well except bug spray…. That is my only comment. Only one…. bring some bug spray! Beautiful tropical locations have beautiful, lush greenery that attract crazy bugs…. Enough said.

Jamaica makes me do some wild things….. like letting my hair down and jumping off a 120 foot cliff….. wow that was crazy! What a rush. For a flash of a moment, I thought I was going to die…. Then I smashed into the water and knew that I was okay. I had heard some gnarly stories of other jumpers that made me think twice, but what the heck, you only live once right?
All in all, Jamaica is a paradise and if you have the chance definitely go check it out. Whether it be Kingston, Montego Bay, or Negril every town in Jamaica is unique, colorful, inspirational, and amazing in it’s own way. Even with all the media hype surrounding Kingston these days, I can personally tell you that you will be safe and sound in Jamaica… I think that my loved ones were more worried about my travels then I was! And the people in Jamaica couldn’t be more friendly and courteous. Thank you Jamaica for making me feel like was part of your country, I can’t wait to come back soon!!
