Ringing 2008 back in Shanghai

Here I am again…… China. Every time I visit, it is as if the city has changed….. the skyline bursting with new buildings.  It has been like my own personal growth watching this city over the past 7 years……..  old worn down buildings making way for new skyscrapers.  I am afraid that all of China is losing parts of its wonderful history and charm just to stay current with our fast paced modern times.  Everything has changed.  The people are starting to look and dress and even act differently then my first visit 7 years ago.  Prices are rising like crazy!!!!  I can buy a beer in the market for 40 cents but across the street at a restaurant it is 10 dollars!!!  I feel as if the whole point for bringing my business to China is getting lost in China’s strong desire to catch up with the Western world.

Don’t get me wrong, everyone should have an equal opportunity to prosper and build their business, but when does it cross the line to greed???  And how is it effecting our bottom line in the end……. It only will end up costing us more in the long run, it’s frustrating and it makes me mad to watch this unfold right before my eyes.  Only will we see the effects when 3rd world countries are becoming superpowers and it will be too late.  This is just a few cents that I have to give since I spend so much of my time in other parts of the world, and worry about jobs and the economy in the US and also how the rest of the world views the US as a country.
